It seems the Aptera will be the most efficient EV made in the world. There are a few othrs that might compare and be in the same class as the Aptera.
One example could be the Twike.com . It is also a 3 wheeler and has pedals that can assist or make it move. I think the Aptera Solar back windown and roof will be much more efficient. I'm not aware of any other 3 wheelers.
Some small cars like my Chevy Spark EV is pretty efficient . Many get about 4 or 5 miles per kWh. I get 7 to 9 . It's rated at 82 miles. I get 115 miles on a charge even after 30K miles. It seats 4 and is a 4 door so it's easy to get people and stuff in and out. It has a large hatchback too.
I think the only thing as efficient as the Aptera would be an electric bicycle. But's it's not in the same class. 1 person, not winter or rain proof design. Very poor aero dynamics at high speed.
That’s what they and many have been saying....🤞

Kudos to you with your EV venture. I like to read EV owners experiences
Aptera would allow me to finally make the plunge. And the time is right, and I am not getting younger😞
Although I was only able to get a ride in a model 2e, and impressed back then..I recall the earlier MK model, which had an allowance for a child seat. I have six grandsons, so no EV has capacity for that situation 😉 But there is hope for an attachment for my dog’s hardness to tether her safely in the cargo area, in the new design so that can serve me with my more routine passenger needs. And hey... they have to be “pet friendly“ too. Step aside “Subaru”/others....
So it sounds like, their 2020 development vehicles will be nicely appointed, avoiding things that would add weight or impact the aerodynamics
I'm sure you can add a doggie seat and or harness clips for your pet. The Aptera will have room for 2 side by side and one in the center behind those seats. It will be great when they get a few on the road later this year 2020.

...and is ready for a test fit/ride😉
As for being the most efficient EV, you have to define what you want to be considered an EV.
My EV Zero DSR, motorcycle usually does 55 WH/mile. The Aptera is said to be nearly DOUBLE that, 100 WH/m.
18 m/kWh VS 10 m/kWh.
My Chevy Bolt EV is stuck at only 4.3 m/kWh! Teslas usually 3.5 m/kWh. 🤣
I guess we'll need to qualify that "most efficient EV" claim to be "most efficient EV capable of highway speeds with more than 2 wheels". E-bikes still win the "most efficient vehicle at any speed" prize. A solar charged e-bike would be the ultimate efficient EV at any speed winner.
