I would like to see a good YouTube Review and test drive. Make a list and answer a huge amount of questions at one shot. There are so many questions that can be answered and probably raised after, such as:
Wipers (and rain sensing)
USB
dual heating controls
navigation
db level
headlights
sensors (parking, etc)
stability (tipping over)
AC/Heating
comfort
power windows
electric park brake
interior/exterior at night (I like the Hyundai Sonata trim that owner can set the color)
BIG ONE... I live in Pa. Where to buy, service, etc.
I will stop here.
Crashworthiness. Being evaluated as a motorcycle, not a car. No bumpers. Shell is the radiator. Will minor shell damage cause problems with battery cooling? Which states have approved the side cameras in lieu of mirrors?
"stability (tipping over)" is no more an issue than with a sportscar. Check this old test "track" video (click here)
Looks good for tipping... but it did show something else. The electric motor whine. That high pitch would drive me crazy, if not impair my hearing. Humm, maybe its the same pitch as my tinnitis :-). I do realize this was a 2010 video. Maybe its taken care of already. Good reason for a new video and my db level category.
Thx for the reply
The motor has since been moved from just ahead of your toes, to the outside of the vehicle! There may be some vid with sound, or at least noise specs, at the motor manufacturer's website.
I was thinking of the level inside.. as well as that sound I heard. Its probably much better with the motors having been moved. Ha.. With that noise, it probably doesn't need the Pedestrian Sound generation.
@junk I just meant that if the new motors themselves were quiet, it would be even quieter than that inside.
From the list above: it does have wipers, & AC/Heating, designed to be comfortable from -20F to 125F. See Aptera's FAQ Spreadsheet
But a YouTube vid of a "test" drive, would be great, however since they're sold out even without that, they probably should concentrate on production.
I was thinking of a 3d party review. Auto reviewers would be glad to get their hands on one to make the video. That way, its not just a sales pitch. You, at least theoretically, get some negative feedback too.
Yes, a 3rd-party vid would be best, but they still sold out without one, so what they need now is production.
