I agree their February/Valentine's ad was a bit difficult to interpret. It almost seemed like order one Aptera and get a second free. However, I believe all it is saying is that if you put down $100 for the refundable pre-order that you can sign up for a second pre-order without putting down a second $100. If anyone knows any different, let us know!
@Len, agreed on your interpretation. Otherwise, everybody would be dumping their existing reservations and putting in new reservations. 😃 Aptera's Facebook corporate site post was a lot less clear than the email: "Spread love this Valentine’s Day by giving the gift of a more sustainable future... From now until the end of the month, reserve your customized Aptera and unlock a SECOND pre-order to offer to the loved one of your choice. Use code “VALENTINE” to activate the buy one get one free discount at checkout: https://bit.ly/2JQLnQH." Even though it says "buy one get one free", it of course must actually just be referring to the reservation fee. Some folks on Facebook asked for clarification, though the Aptera team did not respond.
This leads me to believe that Aptera is trying to build up pre order numbers. If they can show to larger investors that Aptera has 20,000 preorders instead of 10,000 that could be the difference between securing funding or not.
I'm shocked they don't have 20,000 pre orders. This just such a fantastic first car for many but absolutely a great decision as a second car for the larger population.
@Jerry McIntire From Aptera after my order and inquiry

Hi Kirk,
Sorry for any confusion; that offer should have been communicated more clearly. If you place a new preorder reservation, you will get a second reservation ($100 value) for free.
If you have any other questions, please let us know.
I hope you used someone's link so they'd get credit towards a free unit. I think it's 26 signups and you're qualified for a free one.
It is poorly worded. From what I've seen this would be a simple honest mistake. I agree with most of the folks on this thread that believe it's a no charge registration for the second car. I'd prefer the points towards the discounts.
If you get an authoritative answer would you please come back and share it with us?
It starts out reading like the pre-order is BYGO Free, but in the text of the message I swear it reads as if the entire vehicle is BYGO free! LOL! It would be interesting for anyone ordering two with the Valentine special, money taken, months go by, legal mumble-jumble ensues, and then a year from now they honor two vehicles to the few that did that.
I almost want to cancel and reorder just in case. Almost. But I'm not yet convinced I'll get a free car. This isn't the Price Is Right.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We apologize for any lack of clarity in our email or confusion it might have caused. The offer is for customers to make one Aptera pre-order reservation, and get a second reservation ($100 value) for free. We'll make sure to confirm that with anyone who has used the coupon so far. If you have any further questions or concerns, please let me know. We appreciate your comments and your support of Aptera.
Interesting indeed, I just wrote info@ for better clarification and guidance regarding the Valentine message, will wait for a direct message from corp too.
Just received a response from info@aptera, indeed, the bogo offer is for a "free" preorder. Save $100 now, but still have to pay it in the purchase price later. I'm sad.
Hi Jerry! We're sorry you're sad. Our goal was to get people excited and sharing with their friends and family and not cause any confusion. To clarify, you still save $100 on your second preorder reservation fee (that is not charged later at any time). You (or your friends/ family) will still need to pay the purchase price of your Aptera including any upgrades before delivery.
Hi @caseymccarty Our team is enthusiastic and has good intentions, but we definitely needed better communication on this one. I'll be evaluating our internal process to make sure we deliver a more positive experience going forward for customers and fans of Aptera.
Sarah ~ Thanks for your clarifications to this point but I have one more for you.
Please clarify the last line of the offer:
"All current pre-order holders are eligible to redeem the offer on any vehicle reservation made in addition to their existing pre-orders."
Does this mean that we existing pre-order holders are eligible to make a 2nd pre-order without paying another $100. Seems like that would be a token of good faith after all the misunderstanding with the initial offer. Please advise if that is correct or you can make it happen. Thanks. ~ TOP
Sounds like buy one Aptera get one free to me, the way it's worded. When you place a order you need to pick two cars as well. But after sending email about this offer, you just save $100 dollars on placing two reservations.
I am VERY DISSAPPOINTED with this outrageous, misleading sales gimmick. Aptera cannot just turn all their hard work over to some used car lot misleading claims. Aptera needs to clearly understand that TRUST is the one most important value they need to consistently demonstrate.
Their legal, post statement walk back double talk is not conducive to trust.
While I agree that trust is the foundation of a company I also appreciate that this unfortunately worded offer was clearly explained in a matter of hours and that Aptera is very good about cancelling orders. I really messed up my first order ending up with two cars in my account. One email to Sarah and everything was straightened out by the start of the next day with my credit card being credited back in two or three days. I was able to reorder correctly and getting a referral credit to one of the many helpful account holders here on the forum.
PS: Many of us knew something was confused upon the third reading of this "Too good to be true!" offer. Hence, my posting for this conversation.
Whether an error on intent or execution, the company needs to double and triple check all public presentations. It definitely was NOT clear on a quick read. You don’t want to train all of us prospective customers to have to parse in detail every public presentation. That is where the damage is.
I live in farm country where multi-thousand dollar deals are done confidently with a nod or handshake due to the trust built over the years, but there are the occasional horse traders out here and their slick talking reputation spreads rapidly.
Just came across my mind that... planet Mercury rules communication and it's still in the phase of retrograde. Possible many opposite effect, muddying the waters as you try to communicate with others. I don't entire believe any of these but sometimes things are written in the sky maybe? 🙄

I highlighted what they are saying in bold type
It is only a Free RESERVATION for your friend with your pre order until the 28th
So if your pre order today your friend does not have to pay a typicaly $100 reservation fee through Feb 28 ... Is my read!?

That has to be it. If it is a 2 for 1 then I'm gobsmacked (and also ordering immediately)! But that is how it's worded!
Yea. When it's too good to be true then it's usually a matter of reading too fast.
This leads me to believe that Aptera is trying to build up pre order numbers. If they can show to larger investors that Aptera has 20,000 preorders instead of 10,000 that could be the difference between securing funding or not.

Then this is deceptive advertising.
I just ordered one based on the line “Use coupon code 'VALENTINE' through February 28*, and you'll get two Apterae for the price of one.“
If this isn’t true, they need to correct their ad immediately.
I did the same thing. "two Aptera for the price of one" is plain English to me. I expect my second one will be free as in no purchase price.

Thanks Sarah. Many of us had already slowed down and sounded the words out but the clarification direct from corporate is always best.

@Sarah Hardwick I want to cancel my order, and there appears no way to do this from "My Orders" What is the process?
