Does anyone have any referrals completed yet? I have been pushing this on Facebook and getting questions about Aptera. Yet no indication of even one "completed referral." What about pre-orders made by people using the link - is it going to stay at "0 referrals completed" until they follow through and buy the car? I'm okay with that but it would be nice if they showed a count of people making the reservations.
The Aptera Forum
I agree, should show inquiries.
I agree, should show inquiries.
I have a neighbor excited enough to order one through my code and it shows up in the green rewards box we find in the lower left of most screens including this one..
Here is an old screen shot of mine
Nothing is complete until these referrals orders are actually paid/when they take delivery
I see you're an expert but are you sure about the Paid in Full to count? Where did you read or hear that?
Ha!
I never gave myself that label....
If they allowed people to just place a small “refundable deposits“ and then those people backed out.... Folks might misuse the program to try to get a free vehicle.
So just my understanding??? And how I read the circled statement???
Good luck!
Since my ordered Aptera may not arrive until 2021( I don’t want a base unit) , my 🤔thought was... If I could get 26 or more referrals over the length of the offer AND “ in time” if they all came to fruition as sales for AMC.... perhaps I could consider asking AMC to make one direct donation to a 501 c 3, so I wouldn't have the tax responsibility.
But plenty of time on that thought, if the “stars align”
But it doesn't say that anymore on the website. And it is 2021. You say "MAY not arrive until 2021." What is the meaning of that statement? It is guaranteed not to arrive until 2021 at the earliest! I can't understand and will have to test it myself by using a different email address.
@Andy Andrews See my screenshot in my reply to you where I circled where they say “ make a purchase “. I ordered Dec 4th 2020 but not one of the paradigm models, which will be first (early) production.
Mine is a 60 kWh and AWD plus more good stuff
The lower range and FWD models come before that, then they factor in your reservation number, and if buyer also made a certain investment amount during a given Wefunder campaign, etc, which may help with position in production run
Actually late 2021 is the earliest “ I think” ( Guess ) I might expect mine but realistically expect “my order configuration” in 2022🤞
In about six to eight months I will have a warmer feeling
Yep. You're most certainly correct. This turns out to be about a 4% sales commission. Nothing radical about that.
@Andy Andrews I'm not certain that I fully understand what you're asking. A "completed referral" will be indicated following the purchase of a vehicle using your referral code. It already shows the number of times your referral code has been used because you receive one point for every code use. As to a running total of pre-order reservations made, yes, it would be nice to see a running count on the website - we know from other threads that the number has topped 9000, but we don't know how many have already withdrawn their deposits.
@Kerbe #12705 Mine's staying at zero still. So I want to see some sign of viability. Guess I'm not a good salesman. The wording in the rewards pop-up is not logical:
1) "... they'll receive a promo code for $30 off an Aptera pre-order."
2) "For every person you refer, you'll earn a $1,000 credit towards your Aptera."
The $30 off is due to a referral code in the link. Suppose they sign up for the reservation. Referring a person should earn something countable, even if it's contingent on a subsequent purchase. So far I'm not seeing any sign that anything is happening as a result of my attempts to refer people. I don't know if the link is working properly.
When I reserved my Aptera, I was not registered on the website. Therefore when I log in with that email, it does not show any reservation. Also my Facebook login uses a different email address. So I created another login for that email address on aptera.us. Being a retired programmer, I just wonder, how are these credits handled? Is there a database tied to email address? Does an email address have to be associated with an order? Or what?
@Andy Andrews I'm not certain what you see as illogical about either of those statements: 1) If someone uses a referral code to make a reservation they are charged $70 instead of $100 - or "$30 off", 2) If someone uses your referral code to make a reservation and then completes the purchase when the vehicle is manufactured, you will receive a $1000 credit.
We don't know how that $1000 credit will be applied - perhaps as an after-the-fact rebate (if you've already paid for your Aptera) or as a deduction from your Aptera-financed purchase. Perhaps they have something else in mind - who knows? Personally, I'm not relying on it so whatever will be, will be.
There were problems with the website and with the referral system when it was first launched: Website "members" were unable to use each other's referral codes, reservations were not recorded, etc. The BEST thing you can do to sort it all out is - as @Len said - contact Aptera at info@aptera.us - they will get back to you.
@Kerbe #12705 It's not logical in the sense you mentioned: We can't tell what's going to happen when. I did contact Aptera today - let's see if they get back to me.
Best to ask your questions to
Will do that today and let you know if they answer. Normally a company would have at least one person monitoring this forum, but no evidence of that either.
