The Aptera Forum
Yes. In hot climates it can stay on to keep the cabin and batteries cool while the car is parked, powered by the solar panels.
Might I ask how you know this and can state it with such certainty? Are you part of the design team? If so, care to answer some more questions?!?!
@kebdvm To answer your question, I am just a volunteer in the Ambassador program and among other things, am the moderator of the Aptera Motors reddit group, which I started before I had any direct contact with Aptera.
I can give you a better source. Both Chris and Steve will be available by zoom to answer questions directly Wednesday morning December 9th:
@n.bruce.nelson Actually, the solar cells won't produce enough power to run the AC - but they will keep flow-through ventilation going to maintain the interior at the ambient outdoor temperature. You will be able, however, to remotely activate the AC system to precondition the cabin in hot weather - but it will draw power from the traction pack to do so. Same thing with heat in cold weather.
@Zem Yew @OceanDragon As your question is tech-related it might behoove you to visit the "Tech Questions" thread of this forum - where you'll find a very lengthy FAQ document that responds to all sorts of questions - including yours! 😀
So, has it been confirmed that it will have Air Conditioning? How about heat and electric seats?
