Unlike most forum software, there appears to be no "New Posts" or "Unread Posts" ability on this forum. And it doesn't take you to first unread post in a thread. As the forum matures, threads are becoming longer and longer and I have to scroll to the very end to see the latest post.
Am I missing something? I can hit "recent activity" but that is only at the subforum level, not the thread level. it's very inconvenient compared to the other forums I frequent.
So how do all of you use this forum? Is it adequate for you?
Thanks đ¶
ps: is there any way to edit posts after publishing?
Surely not the bestđbut...
On my side
If I go to FORUM and scroll to the bottom the last âthreeâ most conversations are there If you âfollowâ your should be getting all replies in you email. if everyone is replying under an old heading you will have to scroll all the way down, which is happenig now with âall the craze!â
When I compose and send typically once it is posted there are three dots, in a vertical line, on top right... click that and Edit is an option
I hope that helps a little
It does help a little. Hadn't noticed the "edit" in the 3 dots for my own posts. I had checked what was in the three dots for other's posts, and of course "edit" wasn't there for those. Thank you! đ
If you select one part of the forum, say "General Discussions" you can scroll thru the posts. If you click on the "replied to 3min ago" it will take you to the last post of the thread. Not ideal, but at least you don't have to page thru stuff you have read already. Hope this helps.
A big issue for me is that it allows subsequent posts to show ABOVE older ones!
That happens:
- If someone hits an older post's "reply" icon, instead of scrolling to the bottom.
- If someone "upvotes" someone else's answer.
So to see if there are any of those, you do have to page through stuff you already read. Hopefully they can deactivate those functions.
@David Row I usually scan the notification bell first - which show new comments on anything I've followed or upon which I've commented - then I go back and look in each thread (well, not "design" - that one I'm finding a bit too annoying...) for new posts.
