Hi everyone, I stumbled upon Aptera today and I was curious as to the battery chemistry. Does Aptera give more detailed specs on the battery anywhere or does anyone know what cathode material is used? Thanks!
Aptera won't be revealing this until they and their vendor mutually agree. This might be a while yet with testing on going and production almost a year off.
@jcarey19056 The founders stated that their pack uses 21700 cells from a "known manufacturer" and, unless they're using a custom chemistry (which they probably are not) then the cells are likely to be either NMC, NCA or LCO as those are the most common chemistries. But, as my colleague @n.bruce.nelson stated, we won't know for certain until we know for certain!

Great, thanks!

Chris or Steve said they are using a 2170 cell. That’s the size Panasonic supplies for the Tesla 3 and Y.
@ralenz2009 I must have mis-heard - I was having connection issues during the Zoom... I've corrected my post. Thanks!
