For my anticipated use, that would mean refueling about every 6-7 months, or even less with maximum solar capacity and (limited) North Coast solar exposure.
This is neat technology, which could solve the hydrogen storage issue, but it doesn't begin to address the barriers to clean and energy efficient hydrogen production, which would be the first step to making this viable. I don't think we will be seeing this in wide spread use anytime soon, because it doesn't address the major issues in producing and using hydrogen as a fuel.
Ya right!
Ya, cool tech that can address one problem with hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles. But this solution requires re-occurring energy to recycle and re-create the paste. There needs to be a cradle to grave and/or wells-to-wheels analysis on net efficiency, GHG impact and total cost of ownership.
Sounds like another “flying car in every garage” vaporware. Batteries & NOW are better than “someday in the future”.
