your responses include payload of 300 or 500 lbs. They also include vehicle weight of 1800-2200 lbs. This could be interpreted as reducing payload to 100 lbs with the 1000 mile version. Please explain in detail. Will there be any options which would increase payload?
That does make me wonder how heavy the 100kwh pack is alone. I do know that a Tesla 100kwh pack weighs 1377lbs and 1/4 of that is 344lbs. It stands to reason that a 250 mile range Aptera can have a 1,000 lbs payload if it has the 1,000 mile suspension Upgrade.
@barry During a recent Q&A the Founders stated that the ENTIRE payload capacity of the Aptera - driver, passenger and cargo - is 500 lbs. They interpreted this as "Two 150 pound people and 200 pounds of cargo". The average American male weighs 198 pounds - so two of them would leave 104 lbs for their beer cooler. The average American female weighs 171 lbs - so two of them would be able to carry 158 pounds of crafting supplies (or a 104 lb beer cooler and 2 completed scrapbooks).
@Riley The Founders have indicated that Aptera is engineered for the 100 kWh battery pack and AWD: The suspension, body and all other components won't change if a smaller-capacity pack is installed. The loads and stresses which the body/shell will tolerate are based on filling is with no more than 500 lbs of payload, regardless of the battery pack size or capacity. So if you intend to put your 265 lb St. Bernard in the back of an Aptera, you'd better not weigh more than 235 lbs yourself!

Thanks for the Q&A information. That was great.
If they are that big, perhaps they should get rid of the beer cooler.
@are.varli Perhaps they are that large because they keep emptying the beer cooler!
