The Aptera Forum
Yes... you should know with EV and NE winter experience!
Aptera had mention the size as:
Top weight of 2200 pounds for the 100kWh model
Re chains on tires...
There is the tire well confines, given the tire covers ( skirts )...
The last time I used tire chains or studded tires was in the 70s , when living on the east coast, which was a sloppy bulky deal ” back then”. Only RWD vehicles for me then.. I imagine tire chains are lower profile with better fasteners and easier to install “these days”. I only used for snow emergencies. And YES....snow tires improved so much over the years, if your had good weight distribution and good thread ... you were set!
I heard only.... that they were planning some very limited towing capability ... but have not read anything official confirming that.
I haven’t read anything about snow/ice tire chains. Without chains it “sounds like” it may be pretty stable with low center of gravity from battery pack, AWD electric motor in each wheel and torque vectoring... but again nothing I read on your specific question
Winter tires on an electric car make them much better than an ICE vehicle. All wheel drive make it even better.
That is a relatively common size tire. Get some Nokian Hakka R3 or Michelin X-Ice 3 tires, and it will do just fine. And you won't lose much/any efficiency, even.
