I was watching 'Unbox Therapy' and saw this company for the first time. Mind BLOWN. Even if I have to drive to California, how can I get my hands on a prototype so I can modify it myself to be road and highway legal?
- 1k miles of range should leave a little room for towing capacity. Modified low-weight hitch mounts could be installed for added convenience.
-Does the car come with a heating system, or is that too much power consumption to market?
đ -Lastly, how else does anyone think this vehicle could be advanced towards production?
It is unlikely Aptera Motors would give you a prototype to make road legal. They run very lean. They will use the prototypes. You will probably have to wait to buy a production model.
Yes it will have a cabin heating and cooling
I am glad for your interest in Aptera. At this point, the first year's production is spoken for, but you can still reserve a vehicle for 2022. There is another public discussion forum on Reddit at r/ApteraMotors. The more people we can get to post and comment there, the more easily it will become visible to the entire Reddit community. We need posts and comments every day for a month there to reach critical mass.
That's pretty unfortunate. If I reserve the car now, would that be honored in 2022? Also, do you offer financing options for your vehicles?
Also, would my investment be secure (assuming all goes well in 2021)?m If I'm not mistaken, I think an investment is supposed to be converted into stock when the business goes public. Would that still be true if I invested now?
Few people from Aptera chime in here. If you want an official answers from Aptera folk, you'd do better asking a public question at http://wefunder.com/aptera/ask where Co-CEO Chris Anthony answers many questions, or send an email to the address listed below for a private response.
I did read that they are still working out financal arrangements, and reservation holders would be contacted close to the time when Aptera Motors was ready to build their EV.
I reserved my car today: #14505, so that's 4,504 Apteras ahead of mine. Their investor's presentation indicates that may be about 18 to 24 months of production if they keep to their planned production rampup rate. That could take my delivery out to some time in 2023.
Perhaps with these significant pre-orders they can ramp up production faster?
The cell system can be used also in the building at the roof? For the purpose of generating electricity.
