What about a trailer that can be tucked away flat (collapsed as flat as possible) under the Aptera body, then when needed can be pulled back/ dropped . Perhaps a single wheeled trailer so that the wheel would be right behind the Aptera back wheel so as not to cause much extra wind drag. It can have solar panels on it for extra charge power. The top can be lifted to create space for cargo, or be used as a camper for sleeping. It can perhaps even attach to the back of the Aptera hatchback camping area for a continuous space when used as a camper. The Solar panel top can perhaps be adjusted to face the sun for max power.

I like it.
thanks
I think that would still mess up the aerodynamics significantly. Then there's the weight it adds....
this in combination of a tarp cover may replace the need for a larger trunk, plus it can be detachable so the extra weight isnt carried when not needed, b/c in most cases u can attach it before leaving for the grocery store or something if u actually need the extra space. i had this concept as well as a concept of having a passenger trailer so teh extra weight required to accommodate extra people/things doesnt have to be carried around except when needed. https://www.aptera.us/forum/aptera-design-discussion/increasing-average-efficiencies-by-rental-of-usually-uneeded-things
The point is to reduce the aerodynamic drag significantly compared to having a trailer pulled behind when you need to take it but it's not being used (in addition to the cumbersome aspects of having a trailer pulled behind). I believe it's possible, using the techniques Aptera is using to build the car body, to make a very light-weight trailer.
I think all this is heading toward a feature that most will end up deciding is more trouble than it's worth. Maybe I'm wrong ... We'll see.
Yes, I guess It's best to keep it as simple as possible, at least for the first release. As long as it has a place to attach a trailer hitch would be fine for the first release. This stowable trailer would be more for upcoming iterations and would be an optional add-on- so it shouldn't complicate much the basic car design itself.
