The Aptera Forum
These are all 3-wheel commuter EVs. Choice & competition is good!
I doubt they would go in that direct. Many wanted a third seat in this Aptera, which might be possible only with there least expensive 25kWh model
They have a future vehicle platform but that got to get the company going and fill these orders and more!
Well, choice & competition are good. So are more EVs replacing ICEs. If I didn’t travel 250-300 miles each day with cargo, I would look at the Solo and invest the almost $15k savings.
most people travel to work and get groceries, etc alone every day,
even ride sharing people often only have 1 customer b/c people dont often have common routes and prefer to be alone in the back. 1 seater maybe useful for crowded city travel too for people who live in those places but public transportation isnt available. there can be a trailer that carries passengers when ridesharing or more storage space need is expected (this and more herehttps://www.aptera.us/forum/aptera-design-discussion/increasing-average-efficiencies-by-rental-of-usually-uneeded-things) and much storage space isnt often used anyway. much cheaper solutions to more storage:, for getting groceries or something u can sell a folding cargo box , and/or a small teardrop trailer that another such folding cargo box can be carried on, or a bag in which to store things and a tie down net (https://www.aptera.us/forum/main/comment/600f8b1e135fbb004a85e26f ). the cargo box can be folded into teh trunk/footwell area of passenger for aerodynamics when not used,
the cargo box can be a folding crossbar structure enclosed by aplastic tarp liek cover like in this image:
all these side products in purchase order may still be monetarily cheaper than buying a car that carries teh weight necessary for often unused indoor space b/c of the savings in fuel costs, especially given the fact that smaller battrery car are more effceint than bigger battery cars given difference in weight of battery (more driving range per mass of battery) plus smaller car is a bigger money savings for those who wont need to carry much. The lease concept explained in that forum link above makes things better.
Yep, just buy the right tool for your needs & budget. More choices are on the way!
