I understand what you mean by thin-film cells. The cells they are using are decidedly not of that variety. They are IBC single crystal silicon cells with, mostly, distributed copper metallization on the rear. The blue color, by the way, is an indication that they have a certain anti-reflective treatment. Both single and poly crystalline silicon cells will, to varying degree, end up blue-ish. Without the anti-relective treatment, they are grey-ish. Grey-ish is the natural color of crystalline silicon.
