SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Aptera Motors, a solar electric vehicle manufacturer, today announced the appointment of industry veteran Jannies Sun Burlingame as chief financial officer. As the senior financial executive for this fast-growing startup, she will play a vital role in the company’s key initiatives, charting the roadmap for Aptera Motors to become a world-class public company. Working as a strategic partner to the co-CEOs, Jannies will leverage her 20+ years of experience to spearhead financial growth plans, regulatory compliance, risk management, and more. She joins the leadership team at the ideal time; since its launch less than six months ago, Aptera Motors has quadrupled in value and booked over 10,000 pre-order reservations for its solar electric vehicles, totaling over a quarter billion dollars.

Jannies has steered over a dozen initial public offerings (IPOs) for domestic and international Fortune 500 companies across a variety of industries. Prior to joining Aptera Motors, she served as an executive director for a global pharmaceutical company, where she led its Asia IPO and ensured regulatory compliance with domestic and international guidelines.

Jannies began her career at PricewaterhouseCoopers and eventually worked as a senior financial executive for companies in the technology, banking, and telecommunications industries. She is also a successful entrepreneur who founded and led SS&B Global Consulting Corporation.

“It’s a privilege to join an organization that is driven by a vision of bettering the planet and our collective future,” says Jannies Sun Burlingame, CFO, Aptera Motors. “The idea of a purposeful pursuit has been important to me throughout my career. My top priorities are to build Aptera’s valuation into a multi-billion dollar company and create sustainable value for all stakeholders while being good stewards of our natural resources. Holding ourselves accountable to the highest standards, we are poised to achieve our goals of global expansion, making our energy-efficient, fun-to-drive vehicles accessible to everyone.”

“To accelerate our speed to market, we sought out an exceptional candidate with a breadth of both international and domestic IPO experience,” said co-CEO Steve Fambro. “Having her support and leadership will be critical to give our customers and investors’ confidence that our values and ethics are being carried from the boardroom into our day-to-day business practices.”

A trilingual finance professional and educator, Jannies grew up walking the floors of her father’s manufacturing operations. A self-made man who built his company from the ground up, he instilled in Jannies the spirit of entrepreneurship, which she is now passing on to her two daughters. Jannies has traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia, spearheading multilingual initiatives and training global corporations on emotional and cultural intelligence, risk management, Sarbanes-Oxley/J-SOX, and more.

She is currently a candidate in the prestigious double doctoral degree program co-taught by Durham University (England) and Emlyon Business School (France). Highly dedicated to advancing her profession, Jannies recently completed a three-year tenure as president of the Institute of Internal Auditors, Los Angeles chapter. She is also a board member of the Association of Certified Financial Crime Specialists, Ambassador for the National Association of Corporate Directors, and an independent Director for a SPAC.
